HI Gary,
you commented on the apparent drive for Indonesian - I think that goes in waves in my experience. ABout 30 - 40 years ago I think it was huge and it's popularity seems to wax and wane. It is one of the easier Asian languages - no script, no tones and relatively simple grammar eg no tenses and forming plural by saying the noun tiwce.
In the school I have been in for 15 years it is the least popular of 6 languages!
Chinese for example is popular, but often because of fmaily background and it has enjoyed a "push" by the givt. But from what I understand it is a VERY challenging language in many ways...
just some thoughts.

for those with a science interest...

Data collection in mathematics and science is one of those constructivist creative activities which has always been talked about as such a good idea...

but...
(never or rarely done! - science equipment grants in Victoria went to IWBs in many schools)

the current trends appear to favour virtual science as cleaner, quicker, more convenient and consistently provide the correct answer(of course they do they are programmed!)

while simulations and virtual worlds are excellent for challenging unders… Continue
